This class is designed to introduce young children to sailing through fun and play. Sea Urchins will sail in a 20-foot Harbor 20 sailboat, CFJ, and other boats with other children in their class and their instructor. The class is a fun introduction to sailing with the goal of having Sea Urchins become comfortable in small boats. This class will consist of sailing on the water, sailing arts and crafts, and sailing land games. Specific skills covered in this class are basic concepts of finding the wind direction, points of sail, steering, water safety, and seamanship. Sea Urchins will also go on different field trips around the harbor.
 
We may allow 5-year-olds to participate given specific criteria.

Team BYC has updated our policy to align with Balboa Yacht Club:

• BYC Member discount only applies to members and their immediate dependents 25 years or younger
