Balboa Yacht Club is first and foremost a boating club. Since the Club’s beginning in 1922, we have maintained a reputation as a strong contender in all sailing races and regattas. The Club also has an active Cruise Fleet and many of the top Anglers on the West Coast.

New members are encouraged to own a boat or have an ongoing interest in boating. All new members are expected to support our on-the-water activities and to participate on one of our many Club committees.

Balboa Yacht Club has a formal application process for prospective members and we are here to help you along the way. Please come by the Club to pick up an inquiry packet, or email us for an electronic version.

Membership Classes:

Flag Membership - equity membership for those over 21 years of age
Junior Flag Membership - under 40 years of age
Racing Membership - racing resume required
Collegiate Membership - current students 16-24 who are active sailors
Non Resident Membership - sailors that live outside of our area and are already a member of a yacht club
